For starters, I haven't posted anything until now due to work and some articles still being drafted. I'm also trying to figure out how to include my jersey collection into this, so that's another thing. But tonight.... HOCKEY SEASON IS BACK! There are FOUR GAMES ON TAP!
7PM - MONTREAL CANADIENS VS TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS
This game seems to happen every year to start the season... (since 2009-10 season). Home team won the first two games, road team has won every game since, also Carey Price is Carey Price and the Leafs are rebuilding. Shanny, Lou, and Babcock may win a title, but first they have to fix the team and that will take a few years...
MONEYLINE: HABS; O/U: 5 goals (UNDER)
8PM - NEW YORK RANGERS VS CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS
A recent trend I've noticed is that when teams raise the cup banner, they tend to come out flat, which gives the visiting team an opportunity to put up some goals early on. There's also been that trend of losing (except that one time the Blackhawks came back against the Oates' coaches Caps). I think the Rangers are going to come out hungry and put one over on the Blackhawks, but that's also why I think it'll be high scoring.
MONEYLINE: RANGERS; O/U: 5 goals (OVER)
10PM - VANCOUVER CANUCKS VS CALGARY FLAMES
One team got extremely lucky last year according to advanced stats. The other team is very likely pissed off they got knocked out of the first round. The Canucks are pissed. This also might be a homer pick because I have family in Vancouver and I like Ben Hutton.
MONEYLINE: CANUCKS; O/U: 5.5 goals (UNDER)
10:30PM - SAN JOSE SHARKS VS LOS ANGELES KINGS
For starters, last year the Kings raised the banner and the Sharks destroyed them 4-0 on opening night. While I don't expect a repeat of THAT performance, I'm expecting Martin Jones to out-duel his former mentor Jonathan Quick and lead the Sharks to victory. New additions Paul Martin and Joel Ward can only help the Sharks, while the Kings still haven't figured out how to replace Voynov, and now Sekera (Ehrhoff is going to get injured, it's almost guaranteed), and now they need to figure out their center depth with Stoll moving to NYC.
MONEYLINE: SHARKS; O/U: 5 goals (UNDER)
